Had an early start to Sunday to miss the crowds..glad I did..was like Sauchihall Street later on! Had the summit to myself for a good while, weather was superb, 23 degrees and clear views..stunning! Didn't brave the 'true' summit .. the sheer drop kinda put me off :) Met dozens of people on way down...every man and his dog was out for the day in the sunshine. Will def be back in the winter for another go!

walked up the route from the car park at loch long toward the cobbler past the narnain boulders and instead of going left in front we walked on and tried to take the steps at the back, they were covered in ice and with the wind trying its best to blow us off it was a risky ascent but made the top regaurdless.again the wind was very strong and found it difficult to stand up so needless to say i never summited, far too dangerous but i'll be back in the summer to finish the job.easily the most interesting looking mountain in the region and highly recommended

Managed to climb up to about 150m below east summit today, this was my first mountain, my 8 year old boy Declan was with me. We both loved it. Would have loved to make summit but too dangerous. We will be back.

Outstanding hill of the Arrochar Alps.Been up there 4 times now.The first path off to the left on the way up from the dam is good fun.The Needle on a calm day is also interesting.

Fantastic walk one Novembers day a few years ago, it was T-Shirt weather which was even more surprising. We did manage to make it hard for ourselves though by ascending on a route no one else out that day seemed to be tackling.

Easily one of the best mountain days out in Scotland. Didn't find the summit too bad (in fact went up twice for photo opportunities) but take care on the south summit as the death potential here is very real.

Not much to add to the other comments but the descent from the pinnacle is worse than the ascent. I & others came down slowly backwards until atop the awkward boulder (described below. Taller folk will find regaining the ledge by to Argyll's Spyglass straightfoward but I was on tiptoes & pitching on to the ledge meant a slight & unnerving forward shift in weight which you should factor into any decision to take it on, especially if your much under 6ft tall. I did it perfect weather, but wind & certainly wet conditions would be disincentives for me taking on the pinnacle.

A truly beautiful evening climb, to both the North and Centre summits including the daring 'boulder' ascent! A visually stunning mountain.

The final summit scramble is managable but a fall would be severly punished. Best option is to take it step-by-step and see how far you get. The only real nerve-jangler is a step-up onto a tilted boulder after the initial bit through the window, though even this is not too bad when you get there. Give it a try, take your time, and you'll probably surprise yourself by making it with little bother.

One not to be missed, after the initial slog up a forestry path the view of Ben Arthur pulls you in. Some fun scrambling to reach the top and then the opportunity to go through the eye of the needle, easy in the sun a little bit daunting when the sleet and snow is all around. All in all a great walk
